The CSTQ is born!

The Center was founded in 2014 by Carlo Rovelli under the name Centre Samy Maroun pour la Recherche sur l’Espace, le Temps et la Physique Quantique, in recognition of the vision and generosity of Samy Maroun. This initial gift made it possible to launch the Center’s activities, creating a unique hub where researchers from around the world could collaborate on the most fundamental questions about the nature of space, time, and quantum phenomena. Over the years, the Center has grown into a vibrant international community, hosting conferences, workshops, and long-term research programs that continue to push the boundaries of our understanding of the universe.
