The CSTQ has been awarded a Zenith Grant from the Foundational Questions Institute to explore Agency in time-reversal symmetric microphysics. The goal of the grant was to study the relation between the time asymmetry of decision-making and the time asymmetry of thermodynamics, focusing on how decisions impact the future rather than the past and how fundamental physics, particularly the second law of thermodynamics and similar statistical considerations, delineate distinctions between past and future.
